WEEK 01

POST THREE IMAGES
A: YOUR BEST PIECE OF CREATIVE WORK AT HIGH SCHOOL,

I drew this picture in a math class when I was in high school.
People count sheep when they want to fall asleep, and that is why I drew so many sheep.

B: AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

(sourced from www.baidu.com)
Bird’s Nest (Olympic Stadium 2008)
This is one of the greatest architectures I have ever seen. It is the Olympic Stadium in Beijing. I want to become an architect who can design this kind of building in the future.

C:AN ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL
Toys are the most beautiful thing in the world.

Selling Creativity

procedure

Choose a specific work from two of the three artists listed above and create an architecture consisting of three spaces; one below ground, one above ground and one on the ground plane. The spaces above and below ground are the artists studios (imagine they are actually creating the work there). The space on the ground plane is a gallery for selling the work. Create a stair that allows each artist to bring their completed work to the gallery in a distinctive and significant way.

1. Divide pages 2-19 of your notebook in quarters. The lines at 1/4 and 3/4 represent a ground line. The line at 1/2 way divides the page into 2 parts.

2. Draw a series of 9 sections exploring the relationship between two of the projects you chose and the ground line as a datum. Use a range of carefully hatched lines to signify where the section cuts through solid material and to indicate what that material might be. Ensure that the material surrounding the Architecture below ground level is shown as solid.
